SCA Rayados win their first game in Volt League, AC Juniors go top of the table, and both Longhorn FC and Little United fight valiantly but fall short.
SCA Rayados 3-1 Longhorn FC
In the 8th minute, SCA Rayados took an early lead with an incredible volley by Fernando
Calderon just outside the box.
Just when it seemed Rayados would dominate, Longhorn FC struck back in the 26th minute after a mad scramble inside the penalty area. For the rest of the first half, Longhorn FC would make it difficult for SCA to advance up the pitch and showed great defensive prowess to keep the score 1-1 after the first half.
However, SCA Rayados were finally able to break through in the 72nd minute thanks to a goal by Gregg (Gregory) Ezechukwu, and shortly thereafter, they scored a third to formally put the game out of reach.
Longhorn FC will look to rebound against Fuego SL and SCA Rayados will try to keep up their good form against La Vinotinto Houston FC. All four of these teams are equally matched which will surely lead to a feast of good football next weekend.
AC Juniors 6-4 Little United FC
This match was defined by its choppiness and both teams being able to put the ball in the back of the net. However, AC Juniors just had a more potent attack and kept Little United on the back foot.
AC Juniors have been perfect through two matches with six points and 11 goals already despite conceding six goals. If they can shore up their defense, it'll be tough for any team to beat them. They'll be facing off against Ghosttown Saints, another Volt League powerhouse hungry to cause an upset.
As for Little United, scoring four goals against the defending champions proves that they have the talent to succeed in this league. However, their road doesn't get any easier as they face MAFC next week. A win against MAFC will place them squarely in the title race early on this season.
